  1. Dianthe says:

Wow! What an incredible man and an amazing ministry! Thank you Ryan…you’re opening the eyes of those of us who live in a world very different from the one you’re now experiencing.

  2. A real homeless person says:

I can probably tell you what they need. They need acceptance. I have been asked what I need, and what do people expect you to do? Pour out your heart to them and risk being criticized? Humiliated? She probably cries and knows what she needs but she can’t ask. What a woman needs is a HOME! A place where they can fix it up to their liking. They can cook. They can wash their clothes and their husband can be there with them.

At first, I wanted to be angry at you for what you are doing, but I can’t. Your heart is big, and I know you want to experience what it’s like to be homeless but you can’t. Why? Because in your mind, you know it’s over for you at the end of your journey. The couple in the tent have a different mentality. They don’t know when it will be over for them, and they probably don’t know how to cry out to God.

You can cry out to Him in the day and in the night, but He is silent. You wonder how you can end up like you are and when it will stop. There is no privacy on the streets.

They do need something. They need out of the situation they are in, because if they don’t get out, you start to lose hope that you will ever get out. And when you lose hope, you give up.

I hope I never get to that point, but if someone were to come to my tent, I too would say nothing. Pride, fear…call it whatever you want. I still don’t get what God is doing.
